Session Infomation

Sensors are the interface between the analog- and the digital world and therefore of increasing importance for modern life. Optical sensors have the strong benefit that no contacts are needed to the objects to be sensed.
This session addresses new developments in optical sensors, both on the hardware- and the software side. It also addresses sensor fusion and sensor networks, comprising at least one kind of optical sensor. In this way, additional information can be obtained from each of the sensors or networks applied.
Finally, the use of AI in sensors and sensor networks, enabling sensor systems with additional functionalities, will be dealt with.

In addition to the sensor topics, three papers of the session are dealing with micro electro mechanical systems in window and building facades for personalized sunlight steering, energy saving and sustainability. Micromirror arrays in the insulation galzings are used to stear the light in response to the information provided by the sensors. The sensors are identifying user positions, bightest spot in the sky, inside and outsode temperatures of the room.
