PIERS —— A global symposium committed to
advancing photonics and electromagnetics for the benefit of humanity.
Compound semiconductors and optoelectronic devices (including quantum dots, wires, wells, superlattice structures, lasers, detectors, solar cells, microcavities, etc.) are key to achieving high-performance devices, thanks to their unmatched tunability, high efficiency, and highly integrated features.
The new generation of compound semiconductors and optoelectronic devices is moving towards higher power outputs, lower power consumption, purer spectra, advanced cascade structures, and integrated devices. This session focuses on recent advances in compound semiconductors and optoelectronics, including material epitaxy technology, novel light-generation and detection mechanisms, unique optical designs, and performance breakthroughs. These technologies play an important role in sensing, optical computing, the medical field, 6G, quantum technology, autonomous driving, and advanced manufacturing.
