University of Eastern Finland

Session Infomation

This session will explore recent significant fundamental research activities in the theory of electromagnetic fields and their interactions with various complex materials and systems, such as metamaterials and photonic crystals, metasurfaces, and individual particles. The talks and discussions in the session will cover areas of both classical electrodynamics and quantum optics, with some presentations focusing on classical aspects while others address quantum phenomena. This dual perspective will provide a comprehensive overview of both theoretical frameworks.

We aim to enhance participants' understanding of electromagnetic fields and inspire discussions that could lead to groundbreaking research and technological advancements. Therefore, we cordially invite you to join us for an engaging and thought-provoking discussion. We hope this session will deepen your appreciation of electromagnetism's critical role in both theoretical and applied physics.

Very welcome!
